So after the rocket launch, still very wet, but very excited but also realizing it was now only about 4:30 am, we figured we better get a few more hours sleep. After another pretty late start, we headed on our way towards Miami, Florida.
We were not on the road very long when we just had to make a stop at a beautiful beach at Fort Pierce, which was maybe only an hour or so from where we left in the morning (that's kinda why we don't get very far in a day anymore, too many great things to see)
One thing we noticed on the East Coast and even in parts of Florida, many places do not make it easy to park an RV. This place in particular only allowed for RV's up to 30 feet....30 feet!!!!! Well, all you RVers out there know that 30 feet is pretty darn small....and to make matters worse, the parking spots they wanted you to park in were not even 30 feet long and they insisted your whole RV be between the lines....THESE WERE CAR PARKING SPOTS!!!! not RV spots. So luckily for us, this is not peak season in Florida and we did find a spot in the RV parking......taking up 4 spots...
Back on the road again, we got into West Palm Beach. I am sure this is a nice City, and this was purely the navigators fault (can't even blame the GPS for this one), but we got on the wrong road so this was the nicest thing we saw....the rest of the residential area we drove through...Well....let's say luckily it was in the daytime...
So back on track, we headed towards the ocean in the Boca Raton area....OMG, gorgeous places, every little town and beach we came along was spectacular. There are many intercoastal waterways and the homes that are on these are amazing. Some will have an ocean view on one side, then a dock on the intercoastal waterway with some pretty impressive boats, or should I say yachts...and you can also imagine the vehicles that are parked in the driveways...
It just goes on and on. When we looked on the map, the intercoastal waterways were like roads in a subdivision, a very nice subdivision I might add.
So after all this sightseeing, we never really made it very far and spent the night in Fort Lauderdale, several hours short of our destination...

So at 2:40 am.....yes am., we woke to the alarm, made coffee and then went outside on the dock to watch the launch of Atlas 5 Rocket which was transporting a satellite into space. It rained and we waited..... the wind blew and we waited......and it rained some more and we waited.... and waited until just after 4:00 a.m.....then it happened....
Then we saw the most amazing thing ever....we heard what we thought was a Harley on the bridge and then shortly after we just saw this amazing bright light...and it went higher and higher, no real sound for the first several seconds, then we heard it, it was so loud. After a while, you could see it going further and further, it got quieter and quieter and then we heard this "poof" and it disappeared.....freaking amazing stuff....
We didn't have a chance to video it so I have attached a youtube video someone took which shows exactly what we saw...and I think you would have heard us say the very same things...
