I think the first thing you notice is the uneven roads and sidewalks....they are rough here but they seem to just be....very New Orleans.....
The buildings are very much the same, but oh so unique...and seem to be full of life and character..So many art studios and unique stores and little bistros and restaurants and live music everywhere...
And little alleys and courtyards around every corner..
And live music in the streets...
And mingled in with all the uniqueness of New Orleans. ....You see signs of the "other side of New Orleans"...and are reminded that there have been struggles here and that people still struggle here....and that we are just visitors here who need to be aware so that we are left with only great memories of our stay in New Orleans...
And if your eyes are open, you see things here you will see nowhere else...
But back to the French Quarter to listen to some great jazz music...
Then across the street to once again listen to these guys, all awesome musicians but the guy with the "washboard"...truly amazing...We listened to them earlier in the day and were excited to find they were still there in the evening...so we grabbed a drink and enjoyed some more great music...
Finished off the evening enjoying the "sights and sounds of Bourbon Street"...
