Today was the day we were dreading, leaving the warm Napa Valley sunshine and heading north once again.  We awoke to clear blue skies, packed up the trailer and headed on our way.  Wasn't long before we hit some morning fog......the fog sort of matched our moods....

We were still in wine country for about an hour, but we were noticing less and less vineyards...

Wasn't long before we came across this cute little town, Geyserville,  that was having a car show, decided it was worthy of a stop.

Loved these ones....
Back on the road again...the last of the vineyards before the landscape changed...

Grapes were replaced by forests...and glimpses of the ocean...

Just before Orick, outside of Eureka California, we came across an amazing amount of elk at this campsite...not sure I would want to camp here...it was overrun with them...

We saw more and more ocean, but it was pretty cold, windy and a little foggy...

Then into the Redwood National Park....

Home of the big ol' trees....

Everything looks small next to these giants...
And no trip would be complete without a picture here...

And to my delight, it wasn't long before we were back in sunshine and at the ocean...my favourite place....still cold outside....but still gorgeous...

George is still holding on with the shorts....but I think this is the last day and they will be laid to rest this evening....When he emerges from the trailer in Crescent City tomorrow morning...his 2 1/2 month long USA holiday tan will be covered by jeans....sigh....
