Our second day in New Orleans started off a little rainy but by mid day the sun was shining again...We decided not to wait for the trolley, as one had already gone by us because it was full, so did quite a bit of walking. Toured the Garden District, an area with many older homes
Some of the homes have started to decorate for Halloween, which I think could be interesting here in New Orleans...
Also went through the Magazine District and Warehouse District on our walk. Lots of really quaint restaurants and shops
This is one unique "fountain and wishing well"...turned out to be taps from the draft beer...
Had dinner at a great Creole Restaurant, enjoyed some awesome food, then back to our favourite bar to listen to some more music..We have no idea what the name of the band was, they only introduced themselves as the "Daytime band" playing before the "Night-time band"...In between sets....one of the guys says....."Freeze jaywalker!!!!!.....he was actually talking to a large brown cockroach that was walking under our bar table....Luckily we were on tall bar stools and our feet were up high enough....Then he says..."Welcome to New Orleans"...
When we were at the pub, there was this guy who was having such a great time dancing around, talking with people, just really enjoying himself and we could tell people really enjoyed him being there. Turned out he worked at a restaurant across the way and his job was to hustle people to eat at the restaurant. We got such a kick out of watching him make people laugh that we just had to chat with him as we left the bar...he told us ``I used to be really shy and would never talk to people...then God gave me this gift and now every day I get to do this..talk to people like you.`` He was so cool!!!
We saw this as we were walking by this church ...the shadow from the statue was enormous...larger than life...
Our time spent in New Orleans was so much fun, we would like to return some day...
