We left Naples in the morning, but before we did, George found a little visitor in the power box...
He was so darn cute, but we had to leave him behind and headed  off to the Naples Pier.  Once again, a really beautiful area.  Lots of resort complexes but once you got closer to the Gulf of Mexico, they were more single family homes, but beautiful homes.

The beach was endless white sandy beaches, and of course a fishing pier. But strangely enough here, the City of Naples actually has a "blanket fishing license" so you do not need one to fish off the pier.
There were three or four dolphins which hung around the pier, it's always such a treat to see them.
We had a nice walk on the beach, then for a walk up through the beachfront houses and then it was time to get on our way again..slowly..

One really cool thing, is they have found a way of making those unsightly concrete panels a piece of art.
Our destination today was Fort Myers, not a real stretch as it was only a few hours away, so we arrived early and went off to enjoy an afternoon of exploring.

We discovered two quaint little islands,  Sanibel Island and Captiva Island.

This view was really crazy...It was like the highrise buildings are coming right out of the water...

Time to move on, so, we crossed yet another bridge and watched the sun set on Fort Myers Beach, a small touristy beach area close to our campsite.

And after a long day of "playing tourist", it was time to find a place to enjoy a cold beer and something to eat. We finally decided on a restaurant, overlooking the marina, but the menu.... it was like reading a newspaper....It took me forever to decide what to eat, but finally I decided and we enjoyed some great food and some  amazing live music.
