We stayed at Titusville, which is a city very close to the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral.  The campsite was right on the water, which we have been lucky to have several times on this trip. If you look closely at this poor guy....I think an alligator may have made a little appetizer out of one of his feet...but he seemed no worse for the wear...I am sure there are many of these out there

We saw a few manatees from the dock at our campsite, they were far enough away that once you took a picture....it looked like you just took a picture of the water.  So when we stopped for gas, which we do often...George struck up a conversation with the attendant and he gave us a great little tip on where to see the manatees...So if you look at this picture, just looks like any other Marina that we have looked at...until you get a little closer...

And then you would see something like this and know there was something lurking around in the water... 

The manatees were everywhere, they gathered in this particular area to drink  fresh water that comes in at the Marina ...

We were so close to them you could have touched them, but since they are in their natural environment and not in a zoo, we chose not to..but it was tempting..

Look how cute he is...They were also very polite.  They would wedge themselves in, drink as much fresh water as they needed ,then very slowly, you would see them turn around and head out and the next ones would slowly position themselves to drink and it went on like that the whole time we were there...all very calm, almost in slow motion...

Then it was off to the Kennedy Space Center.

Your admission includes a bus tour out to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, where there are films and exhibits.  This one was a preflight briefing where astronaut Charlie Bolden walks you through a liftoff...very cool

Then it was into the main area where you could view the various rockets etc.

And these are moon boots....

His mama would be proud...leaving his dirty boots outside and not tracking dirt in..

This is the main building of Nasa which we drove by on our tour.

After the bus tour, we were back at the main area and toured the Atlantis

Yeah, there it is... the Canada Arm...

From here we went on this crazy simulated launch....They say it is the closest thing to being able to feel what it is like to be launched into orbit at 17,500 mph....freaky

And this is George moving the 9 ton granite Constellation Sphere which is floating on water

And me seeing how it would feel to be confined in one of these things....Way too cramped for me, no thanks

And the best was yet to come...at 4:00 a.m......
