Another rainy day in Florida....this was our view from the trailer this morning...
Even though it was raining, it was still warm outside so we thought why waste a good day on a little rain.  So we headed out to check out Sarasota.  The Historic Downtown was really nice, a little quiet considering the rain...but you could tell on a nice day, it would be a great place to spend a couple of hours .

These plastic covered metal figures are all over the Sarasota area, this one even has a dog water dish built into it......
We went for a walk on the waterfront, got a little wet, but it was worth it..George saw boats, I saw dolphins....
The city had some really neat statues, this was in front of the playground in the park..
And it may be hard to tell from the picture how large this one was, but it was huge..
I always thought I would see some flamingos in Florida, but so far this is as close as I have come...
For a moment I thought this one was a flamingo because it was pink..but it's actually a Roseate Spoonbill, one of the most awkward looking birds here in Florida. It's actually bald, has a bill shaped like a duck's bill but about 10 inches long, but love the colour..
We took a drive to Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island, both really nice places.  We took advantage of the break in the rain...

What we did see was quite a bit of flooding.  The ground here is saturated from all the rain Florida has been getting the last few months...
This is not a river...it's actually a road..
Hopefully the weather will clear tomorrow, not sure the ground here can take much more rain...
