Left Toledo and followed the lake shore of Lake Erie towards New York State. The water quality improved greatly. The lake is so large that you keep thinking you are looking at the ocean. Spent some time in Sandusky, admiring the Cedar Point Amusement Park. Apparently, if you love roller coasters, this is the place to be. We chose just to admire it from a distance.
From Sandusky to Cleveland, the shoreline was lined with amazing homes, most old, some new but just breathtaking. We figured if we took pictures of all the ones we loved, we would have 5000 pictures right now. We were constantly commenting......Oh wow, look at that one!!! over and over again...then we happened upon a town called "Lorain" and we were forced to stop by the pure beauty of it.
This is George helping a boater pull into a slip..
There were boardwalks and homes along the canal that were just too nice to pass up...
And here is a clever name for a chain of restaurants...
Then back on the road again for Cleveland
And just in case you are not watching where you are going, the freeway speed changes from 65 mph to 35 mph with a crazy sharp turn. You could see huge scrapes along the cement barricades. I would have taken a picture but my eyes were closed and I was holding onto the dash...and we were forewarned about it and it still scared the life out of me...
Drove through the tip of Pennsylvania and into New York state, which is wine country in the USA, we had no idea. Found ourselves being Walmart campers once again before Niagara Falls.
